there have been a few more of these scammers around so thought
id post a few points to help spot them and stay safe.....
1)..if you want to really sell safe,always use the AH...u cant get scammed
2)..never sell to an unknown person,especially a lvl 1 unguilded.....
the trade scam works this way...ur selling an item,either in chat or via AH
u will get a whisper saying they want to buy item..if its in ah,they will ask u to remove item...they will offer full price(or very close)..if you ask why
they dont use buy out,the standard response is
'my copy of wow is bugged,i cant use bo in ah...blizz r looking into it'
during trade,ur item and there cash will both be in trade window..
as soon as u hover the mouse pointer over 'accept',a prog they have
will remove the cash,and the trade will go ahead...they have your item for free!!and you get zip....
if you really must sell to an unknown,insist on COD,or better still,ask for cash FIRST,then trade item..they will refuse..stating why should they trust you?..replie that ur guilded and can easily be reported....
my rules are..if item has bid on it,dont remove from ah for anything,never
trade with an unknown low lvl player...ive never been scammed,but i do
'mess' with their minds sometimes!!
